Freeboard Charters
Freeboard Charters can bring you and your family or group of friends up close to some serious natural beauty in Galveston. We can customize your group’s itinerary to meet your interests, providing guides and custom trip planning. We can go looking for resident and migratory birds and Atlantic Bottlenose dolphins in the channel that connects Galveston Bay to the Gulf of Mexico. We can talk about the natural and economic resources that this region depends on.
Custom Coastal Outreach
The creation of what is now Freeboard Charters got me passionate about teaching kids again and I started developing hands-on marine resource exploration curriculum. I incorporated Custom Coastal Outreach October 2023 and received the IRS 501c3 designation as a nonprofit entity in June of 2024. It not only helps teachers, but also prepares Galveston for a sustainable future. Our wetlands are severely threatened by the Supreme Court decision that limited the Army Corps of Engineers’ reach on protecting certain kinds of wetlands, including the wetlands we find near our beach and bay that our coast depends upon.
